Common Q & A
What is the weekly goal?
If we reach the $580,000.00 goal in three years, we must give $3,717.95 weekly.
At a minimum if 315 families gave $12.00/week this would meet our $580,000.00 goal.

Will we be asked publicly for a commitment?
No. Your individual commitment will not be announced unless you choose to share it yourself.
How do we make our gifts toward the building?
Do you think God will help me meet a commitment which right now seems beyond my means?
Just as surely as He helps us in any other area of life. One pastor told his people, “When we give from reason, we must consider our own limited resources; but when we give from revelation, then we can also consider God’s unlimited resources.”
Where will the commitments be made?
Most commitments will be made in your home. When the commitment packet comes to your home, it will have a card for your family. You can fill it out at home where you will place it in a privacy envelope. You should bring the sealed envelope to worship Sunday November 4th.
What if we will be out of town November 4th?
You may bring it by the church office and give it to the financial assistant/secretary the week before or the week after..
When will I sign my COMMITMENT card?
Sign your card before you seal the envelope.
Why should I have to sign a commitment card?
Remember that these are NOT pledges or promissory notes. The commitment cards are your indication of your desire to give. They will help the church to be responsible. Unless the church knows the intent of her people no one will know what we can do. In Luke 14:28 Jesus said, “For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?” (NASB)
Should we make a family commitment?
Yes, but it may be divided among the family members. If this is done, there are spaces on your family commitment card to indicate each family member’s share.
Can I change my commitment later on?
Yes, because the future for all of us is uncertain. Some of us will be blessed so that we can increase our commitments. Unfortunate circumstances beyond our control may force some of us to lower or cancel our commitments entirely.
Will AWANA and/or Sunday School members who are not church members receive a card?
Yes, to give them and their families an opportunity to make a commitment if they wish. Church members are expected to make a commitment; AWANA and Sunday School members and their families are invited to make a commitment. Remember, no one will be pressured to make a commitment.
Will my commitment constitute a permanent investment?
Yes. Take the example of George W. Carroll, a wealthy Texas philanthropist. He gave large sums to Baptist causes. After he had lost considerable wealth, he was viewing a building he helped construct. Someone said. “Aren’t you sorry now that you gave all that money away?” He answered, “No, because all I kept for myself is lost, and only that which I gave away has been preserved.” And so it may be in our lives. When the gaudy, tinseled things of life are gone, that which we have invested in Christ’s cause will continue to flourish and bear fruit.
